Coimbatore : M K Stalin campaigned in Mettupalayam on behalf of the Secular Progressive Alliance backing A Raja, the candidate from Nilgiris Constituency. He spoke about the achievements of A Raja stating, “A Raja who is contesting on behalf of the DMK in Nilgiris constituency has achieved on various fronts during his tenure as Union Telecom Minister.

He spoke about the achievements of A Raja stating, “A Raja who is contesting on behalf of the DMK in Nilgiris constituency has achieved on various fronts during his tenure as Union Telecom Minister.
Today, even a layman is using a cell phone because of A Raja. A few people who did not like this, conspired and trapped him. When late Kalaignar Karunanithi was CM, Raja was the one who collected 100 crores for rescue operations when natural calamities struck this region,“ he added. Various leaders of DMK and its coalition parties participated in the rally.
Addressing the gathering at the Mettupalayam public rally, Stalin asserted, "After coming to power, our first job is to punish those behind Jayalalithaa’s death." Stalin went on to slam the ruling party in Tamil Nadu saying, "Modi is acting like a dictator. The CM here is acting like a Moodi (cap) for Modi. Political allegations can happen on a CM but can murder allegations happen? When I pointed out this, they went to Court claiming that I should not speak about the Kodanad murder case. But the Court rejected their plea. I am going to speak about the Kodanad murders elaborately in every meeting, hereafter. People voted in the last election only for Jayalalithaa, not for those who are ruling at present."
"We did not ask the CBI to investigate the suspicious death of late CM Jayalalithaa and that Minister Vijayabaskar should take responsibility for it and resign. This was requested by the current Deputy CM, O Paneerselvam. Now he has become silent after being given a post. But once DMK comes to power, my first job is to find those behind Jayalalithaa’s death and punish them. This is not for the sake of DMK but for those AIADMK workers who believed in her," reiterated Stalin.
M K Stalin also thanked Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi saying, ”Congress has considered DMK’s manifesto and released its manifesto which assures Rs.6000 for the poor." Commenting on the Pollachi sexual abuse case, he said, "Efforts are on to release the accused of the Pollachi sexual abuse case because Pollachi Jayaraman is behind this.”
